Unfinished: The Good Work Continues – Worldwide
November 3, 2024
Small Group Study Guide
Icebreaker Questions
- If you could visit any country or culture worldwide, where would you go and why?
- What is one person, place, or event that has significantly impacted your faith journey?
- Have you ever had an opportunity to share your faith in an unexpected way? What happened?
Discussion Points
1. Understanding the Mission of All Believers
- Scripture: Matthew 28:18-20 – Jesus says, “Go and make disciples of all nations…”
- Question: What does it mean to “make disciples of all nations”? How can we each contribute to fulfilling this command?
- Follow-Up: How can everyday Christians take part in reaching the unreached without necessarily being missionaries?
2. The Power to Witness
- Scripture: Acts 1:8 – “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses… to the end of the earth.”
- Question: How does the Holy Spirit empower us to share the gospel? Can you recall a time when you felt this empowerment?
- Follow-Up: What challenges do we face in being “witnesses,” and how can we overcome them?
3. Embracing a Global Vision for the Gospel
- Scripture: Revelation 7:9-10 – A vision of “a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language.”
- Question: How does this vision of heaven inspire you to live out your faith today? Why is it important to think beyond our communities?
- Follow-Up: How can we recognize and respond to the diversity around us as an opportunity to share the gospel?
4. A New Perspective on Daily Life
- Scripture: Romans 15:20-21 – Paul’s ambition to preach “not where Christ has already been named.”
- Question: Paul’s ambition was to go to new places to preach the gospel. How can we adopt this perspective, even if we don’t travel far?
- Follow-Up: What steps can we take to reach others right where we are more intentionally?
Action Steps
- Personal Reflection: Spend time each day this week praying for an unreached people group. Ask God to guide you in praying for a specific country or community that needs the gospel.
- Engagement: Look for opportunities in your workplace, neighborhood, or social circles to have gospel-centered conversations. Start small by sharing what your faith means to you.
- Support and Sending: Consider how you might financially support missions or partner with local or global mission-focused organizations.
- Share Your Journey: Next week, come ready to share your experiences as you actively look for ways to share the gospel in your everyday life.
Closing Prayer
“Lord Jesus, thank You for calling us to be part of Your great plan to reach all nations with Your love and truth. Open our eyes to the needs of the unreached worldwide and the people You’ve placed right around us. Empower us by Your Spirit to live as true witnesses, sharing Your gospel with courage, compassion, and love. May our lives reflect Your heart for the nations, and may we never forget the calling You’ve given us to make disciples everywhere we go. In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.”
